Angel Burn by: L.A. Weatherly

My oh my talk about tension Alex is a CIA assassin dedicated to riding the world of the parasitic angels that invaded the world almost two decades ago. In simple words he hates angels he lost his whole family to angels, he was raised in a compound that trained AK's Angel Killers. Every other day or so he gets a text and is off for his latest hunt and accomplishes it smoothly, his is his life. One day as usual he gets orders to go after an angel known as Willow.
Alex's character is a strong, no known sense, been through hell but is still human. He is the kind of guy that makes girls do just about anything to notice them. And then would bang their head against a brick wall for trying to uncover all of his secrets. And then he would just skip town like nothing at all ever happened. And then the girl would bang their head against a brick wall as punishment for their stupidity. And then around the middle of the book it turns out that he does have a heart.
Willow thinks her self as a normal teenager, sure she likes to work on engines and is psychic, but all in all she is just an ordinary 17 year old that cuts class every know and then, she couldn't be more wrong. She is the average girl next door, and that persona is perfect for this story. Her humanity is something that we all wish we could be but then someone would illegally cut us off and we would say "who wants to be a saint anyway?" She is a marvelous character that who cant help but adore, due to a crafty author.
This series is attention grabbing and hold you to the very last page and then till the next book and the cycle continues. Beautifully written and designed by Lee. It is a fresh concept for angels that are in the now.

Origin by: Jennifer Armentrout

Oh my freaking love who does she do it? Its not fair to the rest of us, book lovers or writers. Talk about heart pounding and on the edge of your seat all through out the book. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop and send the world into chaos, again. Ah, my heart still wont stop pounding in my ears. I don't know whether to scream or cry for the ending of this and for the next one.
Katy has changed so much some for the better some has you scratching your head. She is a marvelous character that you cant help but love. In the beginning she was just trying to move on from her fathers death and finish high school in a new town. Now she is on the run from everything she knows. Answers have arisen and so have more questions. Doubt has also been a major factor in the beginning of this book. Its a terrible feeling to have someone poke holes in the fabric of your realty and make you face your uncertainties. That's a part of being human is to realize and face your fears and over come them.
Daemon has also changed he has become the person that makes girls swoon and drool. And I am thrilled to really see the real Daemon! He realizes what he is willing to do to save a person he loves. Well he already knew this but he realized in the last book that Katy was someone he would tear apart the world to save.
Ah, I want the next book so badly... That's all I can really say. So once again Jennifer has drowned her heart and soul into this series and she has created a beautiful piece of art.

Shatter Me by: Tahereh Mafi

I have read concepts similar to Shatter Me but never in this world, it is something truly one of a kind. Tarereh's characters Juliette and Adam have a past Juliette more so than Adam. As you dive into the story that is scarred and lost, right along with the people. Its a terrible world in need of saving, and even when it appears to have no hope it does by the people who would be considered out cast or freaks.
Juliette has been locked up for years hasn't spoken to another human being in almost a year. She goes through the kind of torture that ruins the minds of the strongest men. Her character is kind and selfless but no one sees that in her they just see a monster, someone who can kill with a single touch. She hates what she can do but doesn't hate her self as a person.
Adam is a hard character to understand and that is on purpose. It appears that he is just getting to know her, that he doesn't remember Juliette. And then you go through a whirl wind and everything is upside down. But as you get further and further you uncover who he does cares for and where his true loyalties lie.
The story is a fascinating read, the power that Juliette holds is a fairly newer concept but it sets the bar from what I've read in this genre.

Opal by: Jennifer Armentrout

Dear sweet of everything that is sweet I just want to jump up and down and scream. Oh my goodness I can barley breath and think about it at the same time. All I can say is I want more and I want to cry it was that perfect and infuriating (kind of like one of the main characters) so so so mean and so good. The story line was brilliant, new sides of the characters I've grown to love are revealed and the plot thickens and the tension.
Daemon has become the perfect drool worthy alien ya sci-fi has come to know, and Katy to. Daemon is really an enigma wrapped in a riddle stuffed into a Chinese finger trap. And he actually managed to prove to Katy that this love was true, (finally). And his supposedly dead brother is back from the grave. Everything we thought Daemon wasn't he is in fact. Daemon is doing everything he can to keep Katy and his sibling safe, which is easier said then done. His true character is brought out in every page and it is simply beautiful. And then you cry about how unfair it is and you want your own Daemon that isn't in the words of a book.
Katy has changed as well not only with the freaky mind tricks but she has found that after been shoved to the edge she is willing to do everything and anything to protect those she loves. Katy's character is trying to find a balance between the normal human world and Daemons secret filled life. She is struggling to remember who she is while adapting to a world that questions of who is going to survive and who isn't is a daily concern. She is a remarkable character that is finding her place in both worlds.
The third installment in the Lux Series is captivating and mind blowing. And somehow Jennifer has done it again and better than ever. And hopefully I will keep my fingers form buying the fourth book without permission.

Onyx by: Jennifer Armentrout

Oh my oh my and the story gets steamier. I didn't think that tension between Katy and Daemon could survive as long as it has or heat up any more but I am happily surprised and loving every word of it. At the end of the last book Katy and Daemon were in a position that made you want to skip the lines and hurry to the decision on where their relationship was heading, but no Jennifer left it at a question that personally had me drooling for more.
And yes thankfully Daemon shows his true colors that I doubt anyone but his sister Dee sees. But it takes a good hundred pages or more for Katy to admit to her self that maybe she actually does have feelings for the brooding Greek god look alike. But no it all gets blown up. The further in you get you just keep waiting and then there are questions that would change everything you and the characters know to be real, and uh I just want to spill every last detail, but I wont I will force myself to be good.
Things change for Katy to besides the brooding hotty she cant keep her eyes off of. But of course this new twist and all roads lead back to Daemon. And it doesn't help Katy that the new guy in school is after her to. You know I might just feel bad for her with all this drama if I wasn't enjoying it so much. Katy's character is one that I can relate to one multiple levels, but she handles many situations better than I would. But any who she is a fun and feisty character that I wouldn't at all mind being in the head of all day.
So all I can really say is I love this book and the author and I would recommend this book to anyone who loved Hush Hush or The Archers of Avalon series or the Significance series. Okie dokie now that I shared my piece I am going to dive right into the third book of this series Opal.

Ashes by: Ilsa J. Bick

Ilsa Bick created a dark and suspenseful novel that is based on the apocalypse with a twist of sci-fi. The world might as well be renamed Hell cause that is what is life is going to be like for Alex, Ellie, and Tom if they are to survive the new world. The world is beautifully chaotic, I suppose beautiful is the wrong word but it the world was beautifully written. The details are finely woven and fit together snuggly creating a dark, freaky, and beautiful illusion.
Alex's character is a crafted to be pure strength especially when life throws her a cruel hand. She doesn't lay down curl up into a ball and take the beating she fights back, but everyone has a breaking point. The back story that prepares Alex for the road ahead of her is a tragic one put for better or worse it mentally and physically it keeps her alive through things that most wouldn't want to survive.
Ellie is an eight year old girl who has lost everyone she has ever loved. She is lost but she finds two people who are barley adults them selves to look after her, even if she doesn't like them. Being an orphan is hard enough, but she has the back bone to survive even with the entire world against her. She is a little girl with attitude and hidden strength.
Now Tom is a pure mystery that you cant help but love. Tom's background also prepares him for the road ahead without to much disbelief. With many layers and talents he is the strength that keeps the girls from losing all hope even when he has lost it. As the book goes on you see more of him that makes you want to smack him and Alex to wake them up before its to late.
Around halfway through the book major events occur that make you want to scream and throw way the book because you just want things to go your way but you cant cause that would mean not knowing what actually happens. Now their is one more character that is essential to the story but I don't want to spoil it. So the unnamed character is a complete mystery that you just don't know what to do with. Your not sure what you want because you arrr. Never mind the last two sentences I don't want to spoil anything if some actually does read my blog and wants to try Ashes.
So I love the book it is an incredible rollercoaster and I cant wait to read the next book. If you like Maze Runner or Arena One: Slave Runners you defiantly wan to check this out at the nearest library.

Storm by: Brigid Kemmerer

The beginning is very grabby and it keeps you until you figure out what is up with those brothers.
All of the brothers have their own personalities that are miles apart. Michael is bossy and over bearing. Gabriel is crass loud mouthed and says what whatever pops into his head. Nick is Gabriel's twin brother and the complete one eighty of this brother, polite and soft hearted. Then there is Chris the youngest and the one who this story revolves around well he and Becca. But any who he is clueless and lost and life isn't cutting him any slack. I love that Brigid gave the brothers a wide range of personalities but it also makes it harder to see each character but this is a good thing because all the books represent a different brother and Hunter.
Now Becca is someone who is tried of people taking advantage of her and whispering behind her back. I love how she is someone who loves to help people but they in return hate her back and then she has not one but two knights in shinning armor. I don't care who they treat her but how when she is feed up she retaliates.
The secrets that surround the brothers and Becca is frightening and beautiful. Its sad that those with gifts and abilities are prosecuted innocent or not, but this is only a fact of life for those who are afraid. The gifts that Brigid gave the brothers are an old folktale throughout history. But she twisted the story and made it her own. I finished this book last night, and I want more.
